Julie and Adam

Last year I met Julie Newmar and Adam West at a Palm Springs art gallery. Julie was the original and by far the greatest "Catwoman" in the Batman TV series (1966-68). Adam, of course, was the Batman. Both were gracious and approachable, and I took pictures of Julie's arrival and of Julie and Adam at the gallery.



Adam is a talented artist as well as a fine actor, and his paintings and sketches were being displayed and available for sale for what I believe was the first time.



Julie's father was a professor and an excellent athlete, and actually played for the Chicago Bears. Her mother was a former Ziegfeld Follies dancer. Julie inherited a high IQ and great athletic ability. She stands 6 feet tall in her stocking feet; at the gallery she wore flats and was almost as tall at the 6'-2" Adam.



Julie is a true goddess...a national treasure. She still is gorgeous at 74.
